Welcome to Casa Del Cymru
We are a small family business based in rural West Wales manufacturing a range of pastas and ravioli.
The inspiration for the business comes from Gina’s Grandfather who was an Italian POW held in West Wales for the second half of WW2. He returned to Italy after the war but then brought his family back to Wales where they have settled.
We have 2 key differences from other ravioli manufacturers.
One is that we use the fibre from whole raw vegetables to help bind our pasta, this means that the pasta is naturally high in fibre and has all the inherent health benefits of the vegetables used (e.g beetroot is very good for the blood). The high fibre content of the pasta makes it more workable for us and gives the end product a striking colour.
The other is that being based right on the West Coast of Wales we have access to some of the best products in the country to make ravioli fillings out of; such as cheese from Caws Cenarth and Dairy Partners Wales, Wild Boar from the handmade sausage company and Crab from Cardigan Bay fish.
Primarily we supply the food service industry both directly and through distributors, although we have recently started to dabble in the retail market with ravioli sold in the freezer sections of deli’s, farm shops and convenience stores. A new box delivery scheme has just started in Cardiff and Swansea. We also attend farmers markets in Aberystwyth and Swansea.
"Despite being on a lifetime diet, I highly commend these healthy eating/tasting pasta products having used them for about a month. You provide several types of pasta which are compatible with each other, so therefore it would be a very long time before one becomes bored with the menus, if ever."
